Senior PHP Software Engineer (Web Applications)

We are seeking a very senior, Engineering Level, PHP Software Engineer to drive complex, innovative new development for one of our fastest growing products. This position will play the key role in architecting, designing, and implementing a custom personalization driven product, which will be managed almost entirely by administration tools. It’s highly desirable to have previous experience in financial or analytical industries such as direct marketing, given these are among our core competencies.

Roles:

Analyzes requirements and designs scalable & high performance software at system, sub-system and unit levels
Constructively reviews the work of up to 6 engineers
Applies industry best-practice software standards and technology to complex business problems
Helps to set-up and maintain development, test and production environments
Sets a good example for others through development and technology fundamentals

Qualifications

10+ years experience in design and development of commercial enterprise software on multiple platforms
5+ years experience in design and development of data-centric Java server applications
Thorough knowledge of OOP principles and practices
Outstanding skills as a PHP developer
Excellent verbal, written and communication skills is a must!
Ability to work on a small team, in a start-up environment
Ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and have a flexible, positive attitude
Must be team-oriented, with an interest and willingness to help develop and mentor the engineering team as it grows.
Strong working knowledge of build and source code control tools (ant, CVS).
