The SMC Electronics Group is an international corporation that markets to medium to large scale companies and organizations. SMC\'s core revenue generator is our propriety SMC Delivered Maintenance services. These services are essentially IT Infrastructure insurance. When a contract is sold the client has the benefit of contacting a Technical Assistance Center (TAC) 24/7,with over 375 certified technicians, if any problems with their network arise. If hardware fails SMC sends out replacement equipment immediately, also known as advance replacements, to be there by the next buisness day.
Our services compete directly with Cisco SMARTnet and other OEM maintenance services. We support all major manufacturers such as Cisco, Nortel, 3com, Extreme, Avaya, and many others. Some of the common pieces of equipment under contract are switches, routers, PBX\'s, IP telephony and wireless access systems. We do not support desktops however.
The benefit to our customers are substantial savings over the OEM offerings of generally 20%, and the benefit to our company is that all medium to large scale companies already hold similar contracts, our service truly saves money for our clients and is truly a business necessity.
Contracts generally range from $5,000 to $300,000 and historically have a 92% renewal rate per year. Commission for our independent reps range anywhere from $1,000 to $60,000 per sale. Most of our contracts are annual and most commissions are paid in full at the point of sale.
