It was a decade that marked a turning point in the American landscape. The 1920s were a time when imagination and determination were the only limits to one’s possibilities in the worlds of science, communications, the arts and athletics.

1927 was a year in which athletic heroes took center stage. The celebrated New York Yankees clinched the 1927 World Series, Babe Ruth smacked a record 60 home runs, Jack Dempsey brought worldwide attention to boxing, Red Grange owned the football field, Johnny Weismuller excelled in the pool, Bill Tilden cornered tennis and Bobby Jones brought the game of golf into the American experience.

’27 is a testament to the accomplishments and style of those American heroes, who not only provided record-breaking performances but innovative clothing styles as well, from the raccoon coats of the Four Horsemen of Notre Dame to leather driving jackets inspired by aviation wonder Charles Lindbergh.
